Njao Gap

Njao Gap separates Njao Island from the main island of north-west Pemba. The Manta Resort lists five sites inside it: Coral Garden, North Wall, South Wall, Slip Stream and Jahazi Reef. Sheer walls covered in gorgonian fans and soft corals alternate with shallow coral gardens where green turtles are met. Currents push a lot of water through the channel, creating drift dives with titan triggerfish, Napoleon wrasse, giant trevally, dogtooth tuna and schools of barracuda, and whitetip reef sharks on the deeper dives.
