Fundu Gap
Also known as: Fundo Gap
Fundu Gap is a narrow channel that connects a shallow tidal lagoon with the open sea. The Manta Resort names five sites here: Mandela Wall, Pinnacle, Coral Garden, Crack and South Wall. Fundu Lagoon describes the south wall as a drift on the incoming tide, with a sheer overhang at the corner where most of the action is. Eagle rays, Napoleon wrasse, giant trevally, barracuda, sweetlips and schools of snappers are common, and the cool, deep water feeds large gorgonian fans and anemone fields. Visibility can drop on an outgoing tide.
