Boeing 737 Artificial Reef
Also known as: Xihwu · Xihuw · Boeing 737 Airplane · Chemainus Boeing737 reef
The Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia placed the stripped airframe on the seabed on 14 January 2006 and named it Xihwu, the Hul'qumi'num word for the red sea urchins that were once common in these waters. The fuselage, wings and tail are easy to recognise, which makes navigation simple. Because the plane is only about 11 m tall, divers can practise basic wreck skills at moderate depth, with extra openings cut into the fuselage for light and access. Rockfish shelter along the fuselage and wings, lingcod rest nearby, and anemones and nudibranchs now cover much of the surface.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
