The rocky dome is one of the peaks left of an ancient ridge between Punta della Guardiola and Capo Enfola, now almost buried in sand. Its flanks hold red and yellow gorgonians, some colonised by a purple soft coral, and yellow sponges of remarkable size. Lobsters, forkbeards, brown meagre and a large anglerfish live here. In June ocean sunfish often circle above the summit. Consorzio Elbano Diving recommends it for experienced divers.
