Scoglietto – Big Caves

Also known as: Grottoni dello Scoglietto · Scoglietto – Grottoni · I Grottoni

The route leaves the Scoglietto wall towards open water across a ledge decorated with yellow gorgonians and sea daisies. Around 30 to 35 m three big caverns open one after another, and divers can enter them for a few metres. Inside, lobsters, European lobsters and colourful nudibranchs live under sponge-covered ceilings. The ledge ends on sand at about 40 m, where large groupers and forkbeards have their dens. Looking out into the blue, bonito, little tunny and sometimes ocean sunfish pass by.
