Coralline di Capo Fonza
Also known as: Secca del Corallo · Le Coralline
The top lies only about 4 m down and is easy to miss on calm days. The east wall drops vertically to sand at around 42 to 45 m, and its crevices are filled with red coral, white and yellow gorgonians, groupers, congers and morays. A grotto opens at about 30 m and winds upwards inside the rock, so the only way out is back through the entrance; Infoelba asks divers to take care not to damage it. Consorzio Elbano Diving also describes a chimney leading up from 30 to about 15 m. The outer pinnacles, called Le Coralline Esterne, are for experienced divers and bring red gorgonians, European lobsters, John Dory and catsharks.
