Capo Calvo
Also known as: Capo Calvo - Sassi Neri
The boat moors on sand and seagrass at 5 to 7 m, protected from the scirocco. The easier route follows a boulder slope parallel to the coast between 10 and 25 m, where twin walls covered in sea daisies often attract barracuda and small amberjacks. The deeper route crosses a sandy plain for several minutes to reach a dense field of red gorgonians between 30 and 45 m. Lobsters, European lobsters and large passing fish are frequent, and the false black coral (Savalia savaglia) is a highlight. Currents can push divers east towards open water and make the return harder.
