Buoy SP5
Also known as: Buoy SP 5
The site lies past the island's 19th-century harbour, almost opposite the Roman port. From the top a vertical cliff descends, and further out pyramid-shaped rocks covered by red gorgonians stand on the bottom. Three wide caves with easy entrances are the speciality: one runs from about 30 m up to 12 m, and two lie at about 21 m. A cave at about 20 m is lined with sponges, bryozoans and bright yellow cup corals. Large groupers and hundreds of barracuda are always around.
