Chinese Wall

Also known as: Bird Rock

A ridge descends steeply to around 40 metres, its boulders adorned with huge gorgonian sea fans in excellent condition. Canyons, swim-throughs and overhangs give shelter when currents and surges are strong. Leopard sharks rest on the bottom while trevally hunt schools of fish in mid-water, and sweetlips, fusiliers, parrotfish and humphead unicornfish are common. A mooring line on a concrete block at 20 metres is used for the descent. Few liveaboards include it in their itineraries.
