Hideaway Bay
Also known as: Hideaway
Protected by Island 4 to the west and Islands 5 and 6 to the northeast, the site rarely has strong currents. A sloping reef of mostly hard corals, with sea fans and bommies of all sizes, runs down to a flat white sand bottom. Blue-spotted stingrays and garden eels live on the sand, while giant morays, clown triggerfish, batfish and lionfish are seen on the reef. Hawksbill turtles feed among the staghorn coral, and leopard sharks and whitetip reef sharks are possible. The Tuna Wreck lies in deeper water nearby.
