Woodhouse Reef

Woodhouse Reef lies between Jackson and Thomas Reef and offers no shelter or fixed moorings, so it is always done as a drift. The most rewarding part is the northern half of the east side, where a canyon opens at about 30 m and runs parallel to the reef with a bright red anemone at its edge. Black coral, turtles, jackfish and eagle rays are typical sightings. Towards the northern tip whirling currents and wind create rough water between Woodhouse and Jackson that local guides call the washing machine, so dives usually end before it.
