Ras Ghamila
Also known as: Ras Gamila · Ras Gamilla
Ras Ghamila is the headland at the entrance to the Straits of Tiran, and the dive ends near the green beacon that marks the western edge of the shipping passage. Below a fairly shallow fringing reef lies a wide, gently sloping sandy plateau scattered with coral heads, pinnacles and big table corals. Red Sea Marine describes it as the local site with the most sea fans, and several centres single out the gorgonian garden as the highlight. Feathertail rays rest on the sand, turtles hide under the pinnacles and tuna, trevallies and the odd shark pass along the edge. Camel Dive Club often uses it as a third dive on the way back from Tiran.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
