Grotta dei Fantasmi
Also known as: Ghost Cave · Ghosts' Cave
Two openings at about 5 to 6 m lead through a short white passage into chambers where daylight never reaches. Fresh water once shaped the cave, depositing calcite falls, stalactites and columns that were later broken and eroded, so white sculpted rock lies among sand and clay. The route loops back on itself and includes a stop in an air chamber with sparkling calcite formations. The water inside is very clear but almost lifeless, and fins must be kept gentle to avoid stirring the silt. ScubaGo compares the atmosphere to the cenotes of Central America.
