Nakanoshima Channel
Also known as: Nakano Island Channel · 中の島チャネル (Japanese)
Crevasses in the shallow reef let in curtains of sunlight, and the channels wind like tunnels across the sandy bottom. Boulders drop to sandy patches at about 14 to 20 m, where jawfish peek out of the sand. Angelfish, anemonefish and juvenile fish are common, and divers search the walls for nudibranchs, leaf scorpionfish and pygmy seahorses. One shop says the route brings divers back under the boat after about 40 minutes.
