Pointe de la Baleine
Also known as: La Baleine · Pointe Tortue
The dive starts among schools of chromis and sergeant majors before following boulders covered in gorgonians, sponges and corals down a short wall. At the foot of the wall a sand bank marks the end of the reef, and the Nahoon wreck lies off the same point. The site is also nicknamed Pointe Tortue, and turtles that nest nearby are often met. Spirographs and other fan worms are abundant, alongside moray eels, lobsters, groupers, barracuda and porcupinefish, and African pompano appear late in the day. Alpha Plongée often runs it as a drift dive and reports a humpback whale encounter here in February.
