Tatawa Besar

Also known as: Tetawa Besar

The dive drifts along a slope of mixed hard and soft corals in which orange soft corals stand out, before reaching a large plateau of staghorn coral between about 3 and 14 m. Turtles feed in the coral fields, blacktip and white-tip reef sharks pass in the blue, and sweetlips and large schools of reef fish are common. Around the corner the current eases, giving time to look for nudibranchs, shrimps and seahorses. In some months mantas also visit the reef. Because the best part of the reef lies above 18 m, operators consider it suitable for all levels.
