Siaba Besar
Also known as: Turtle City
Siaba Besar is protected from the strong currents of the park, and its sandy bay flattens out at about 10 to 12 m before reaching an outer reef. Green and hawksbill turtles are almost always present among the staghorn and hard corals, which gave the site its nickname. The sand hides frogfish, seahorses, ornate ghost pipefish and flamboyant cuttlefish, so photographers spend long dives searching it. Blacktip and white-tip reef sharks, cuttlefish, sweetlips and blue-spotted stingrays are seen regularly, and dugongs have been reported.
