Torpedo Wreck
The Torpedo is a Japanese cargo vessel of about 70 metres that rests upright in deep water north of Koh Tao, with its deck at around 45 metres. Its name comes from the teak logs still filling its holds, which were taken for torpedoes when the wreck was discovered. At the stern divers can enter three levels, namely the engine room, the accommodation and the wheelhouse; the crane now lies fallen across the deck, and fish gather around the large bow. Schools of batfish and barracuda are reported around the wreck. Because of its depth it is dived only on technical decompression dives, often with trimix or rebreathers, after a boat ride of one to two hours from Koh Tao.
