Kuroshima North

Also known as: Kuroshima Kita · 黒島北 (Japanese)

Boats anchor on the shelf at 5 to 10 m, which is covered with coral and swarming damselfish. Below the shelf a slope with blue coral and countless orange anthias falls to about 25 m. Narrow crevices just wide enough for one diver lead to resting places of whitetip reef sharks, which are harmless to divers who keep their distance. The bay is fairly calm, but because the water flows well, mantas and even whale sharks occasionally stray in.
