Jitsuru Channel

Also known as: Jitsuru Suiro · 自津留水路 (Japanese)

The current funnelled through the channel brings nutrients that have grown a wide carpet of finger and branching coral. Damselfish, clownfish and their anemones shelter in this coral forest. Turtles are sometimes found tucked into the hollows between the coral heads. Divers anchor at about 10 m, and the slope continues gently into deeper water where Liberte reports purple fire gobies near 40 m. Liberte describes the shallow area as calm and suitable for beginners.
