Sand Triangle
Also known as: サンドトライアングル (Japanese)
The name comes from the triangle of sand that widens towards the open water. Coral heads on the sand hold five of the six anemonefish species found in Japan, according to Diving WG and SEASIR. Hawksbill turtles feed on sponges between the corals and often let divers come close, and green turtles are seen as well. The bright sand keeps the water light even under clouds. GOLD notes that the site is sheltered from southerly to easterly winds and can be dived all year.
