Punta Espejo

Also known as: Espejo Point

Punta Espejo lies on the southeastern tip of Marchena, a large northern island with no land visits, and is reached only by a few northern liveaboard and cruise itineraries. A sloping reef with a diverse community is where green turtles feed, and sandy, current-swept areas hold fields of endemic garden eels. Hammerheads, often in schools, and Galapagos sharks are the highlights, along with dolphins and cownose rays. Red-lipped batfish live in the shallows. Currents and swell near shore can be strong.
