Palancar Horseshoe

Also known as: Horseshoe

The reef slopes out to a deeply cut lip where corals form tall towers, buttresses, gullies and canyons. Many swim-throughs and overhangs are lined with sponges and large sea fans. The coral and sponges are the main attraction rather than fish, but hamlets and red spotted hawkfish can be found in the lettuce and finger coral near the top. Eagle rays and turtles are often seen. The dive usually ends on top of the reef at about 8 m.
