Ville de Grasse

The small mixed steamer ran between Marseille and Nice by way of Cannes and was only three years old when she was cut almost in two at night. Mio Palmo calls her the oldest wreck of the Mediterranean and notes that the paddle wheels at the stern are still intact. The site lies about 600 m south-south-west of the Grand Ribaud lighthouse at the entrance to the small pass. Strong currents, a bottom that drops quickly to the west and constant boat traffic make it a demanding dive, though the water is usually clear.
