Outer Castle

Also known as: Blindevals

The central rock breaks the surface at low tide and in any real swell. The main boulder rests on a bedrock base with a gap beneath it and a small air-trap overhang, giving the largest swim-through of the site. Surrounding boulders and the neighbouring Pie Rock reefs add pinnacles and gaps, from about 3 m on top to over 30 m at the deepest. Large rays are often encountered here.
