Partridge Point

The reef borders the Castle Rocks restricted zone, and Dive Team ranks its fish life just behind Castle Rocks thanks to the long fishing ban. Granite boulders and outcrops, some above the surface, create overhangs, caverns and swim-throughs, with sub-sites such as Seal Rock, Big Rock, Deep Partridge, Dave's Caves and Peter's Pinnacles. Many divers spend the first part of the dive with the seals before exploring the reef. Short-tail stingrays and gully sharks visit the kelp near shore in summer, and galjoen, janbruin, roman and pipefish are regular sightings. Most diving is between 5 and 12 m, with Deep Partridge dropping to about 25 m.
