Pyramid Rock

The reef lies in the Castle Rocks restricted zone and is described by Wikivoyage as the best site near Cape Town for fish variety. Overhangs and swim-throughs cut through the reef, and divers often return to shore underwater through kelp forest. Most of the dive is shallow, with the inshore gully averaging about 8 m and the deepest point about 18 m in the Sansui Reef area to the south-west. Cowshark sightings have dropped sharply, and Dive Team has not seen them here since 2016. Good navigation is needed to avoid a long swim back.
