Punta Solchiaro

Also known as: Solchiaro Point

The point slopes gently at first through a field of boulders, then falls in a series of drop-offs into the blue. Below about 40 m the bottom is carpeted with red gorgonians, and a branch of false black coral grows at 38 m among yellow and red sea fans. On the west side, old car wrecks from a former dump on the headland now shelter fish, and two small arches nearby carry red coral and lobsters. Groupers, scorpionfish, octopus, amberjack and John Dory are common along the slope.
