Punta Pizzaco

Also known as: Punta del Pizzaco

Divers start from a small sandy cove and descend steps at 5 and 12 m before a vertical gully leads down to about 26 m. With the wall on the right, a cavity around 32 m holds red coral with open polyps, and red Paramuricea gorgonians grow thicker below 20 m, hung with catshark eggs. The wall continues to about 70 m, with groupers, white bream, anthias and passing barracuda. On the way back a Madonna statue stands in a wide recess at about 18 m, and the anchoring cove hosts pipefish, cuttlefish and many octopuses.
