Current Alley

Also known as: Yellow Corner

The site lies in one of the strongest tidal flows of the Pantar Strait, and Alor Tanapi reserves it for advanced divers. Depending on moon phase and water temperature, a school of hammerhead sharks can be met here; Alami calls them resident but hard to find, and Dive The World names September to November as the best window. At other times barracuda, blacktip sharks, trevally, large Napoleon wrasse and sometimes eagle rays are the reward. Divers should be comfortable with demanding drift dives.
