Mwana wa Mwana

Also known as: Mwana na Mwana · Mwana

Mwana wa Mwana is a gently sloping fringing reef with some of the healthiest coral in the north of Zanzibar. Below the coral, a sediment slope continues deeper. The site is known for large seahorses, frogfish, leaf fish, ghost pipefish, mantis shrimps and Spanish dancers, while glassfish fill the crevices and green turtles visit cleaning stations. Visibility is usually a little lower than at Mnemba, which Scuba Do suspects has kept the corals in good shape. Currents are usually mild but can pick up, according to SSI.
