Telegraph Reef
Divers explore rocky shelves and bommies before reaching channel entrances with busy fish life. Pieces of a submarine telegraph cable, laid by the Germans around 1900 and once linking Yap to Singapore, lie along the top of the reef. Wave action keeps the corals and rocks rounded. At night lionfish, red stonefish and many crinoids come out, along with large blood-red sea hares almost a foot long.
