Big Bend
Divers enter some 200 m north of the bend in the reef and let a gentle southerly current, around half a knot, carry them along. The wall is cut by deep fissures, ledges, niches and swim-throughs, which makes it a dive for slow exploring. Below about 15 m it turns into a gentle slope. Porites bommies host many tube worms, and sheltered niches hold delicate white pulse coral like that at Spanish Wall. Turtles rest on the terrace below the wall, and longer drifts pass through the territories of large resident barracuda.
