Punta Galera
Also known as: Cala Galera
A ridge of lava runs out into the sea and divides the bay into two coves with pebble bottoms and clear water. From the end of the ridge a rocky slope falls away towards the open sea, with large boulders, an arch at about 30 m and Posidonia meadows in between. Shoals of saddled, two-banded and zebra bream mix with big groupers, while amberjacks, blue runners and barracuda come in from the blue. The seagrass hides pipefish, cuttlefish, octopus and noble pen shells, which makes the shallow coves a good finish for any dive. The bay is also the starting point for the deep Grotta dei Gamberi cave.
