Punta Falconiera
Also known as: La Falconiera
The dive starts in a bay at the foot of the Falconiera headland, over seagrass and rocks, and reaches the top of a steep wall that ends on sand at depth. Yellow cluster anemones, sponges, orange cup coral, tube worms and gorgonian fans cover the rock, with scorpionfish, moray eels and nudibranchs in the crevices. The Falconiera cave, an old volcanic feature, runs as a straight tunnel of about 28 to 30 m into the cliff and ends in a chamber with shrimps, forkbeards and a resident grouper. Near the headland an underwater archaeological route shows ancient anchors. Its easy conditions make it one of the classic night dives of the island.
