Fort Rock
Also known as: Klathipa Deep · Klathe Pare · Kartbar Rock
Fort Rock is a rocky seamount about 3.5 km from Uppuveli that local centres keep for Advanced Open Water and deep diving students. Trincomalee Bay Dive Center points to spectacular swim-throughs and huge schools of fish around the rock formation. PADI's entry describes trevally, moray eels and barracuda groups, and notes that a surface marker buoy and a dive computer are important here because the current can sometimes be strong. Diving Club, which calls the site Klathipa Deep, reports napoleon wrasse, barracuda schools and occasional reef sharks, with hammerheads seen now and then in July and August. The boat ride takes around 25 to 30 minutes and mornings are recommended.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
