Sisters Island
Also known as: North East Sisters Island · Sister's Island
Long, low quartzite reefs run along the island and extend 200 to 300 metres out to sea on each side. They hold a huge number of nudibranchs, along with anemones, sponges, lace corals, yellow bryozoans and large gorgonians. North of the island many bommies and rock spires rise from the bottom, including the group known as The Jewel on the north-eastern side. Red morwong, leatherjackets, sea pike and barber perch are common, and tiny yellow sea spiders hide in the kelp.
