Ribbon
Also known as: Ribbon Reef
Ribbon is the shoreward reef of the 5 Mile group and, like Stringer, consists of two small sections surrounded by sand, a small one to the north and a bigger one to the south. Pisces Diving describes them as joined by stepping stones. It is named after the ribbon eels that live around its edges, although Kelbe Photography noted they had not been seen for some time. Devil firefish, scorpionfish, sand divers, lionfish and a magnificent anemone are among the residents. Its fish life attracts barracuda, kingfish and sharks, and turtles often rest under overhangs.
