Inverlane

The Inverlane lies in Burra Sound on top of the flattened remains of the earlier blockship Budrie. Until around 2000 her bow rose well above the surface in mid-channel, but tides of up to five knots eventually pushed the wreckage over to starboard. The same currents that break the ship down make it a rich home for encrusting sea life. Divers have to time the dive for the short slack water to explore safely. MV Huskyan includes it among the wrecks that may be seen on its Burra Sound drift.
