Whale Rock

Whale Rock is the second islet in the Fiabacet chain near Misool, surrounded by steep banks and walls. About 60 m of water separate it from the neighbouring islet, and this channel, roughly 20 m deep, is the place to wait while the current brings the fish. Surgeonfish, unicornfish and several kinds of snapper gather in large numbers among tightly packed sea fans, cup corals and sheet corals. Groupers and great barracuda circle on the outside.
