Titlow Beach

Also known as: Titlow · 6th Avenue Dock

The ferry dock at Titlow Beach is long gone, but two rows of its pilings remain and divers call them the Cathedral. They are densely covered with white plumose anemones and house large sea lemons and other piling life. A couple of hundred yards to the south, low clay shelves provide dens for wolf eels and octopus. Because everything lies shallow, divers can spend a long time underwater, but the Narrows current can run hard, so the site must be dived at slack. The area is a marine preserve where nothing may be taken.
