Fox Island West Wall
Fox Island West Wall is a less crowded, more natural-feeling alternative to the urban shore dives around Tacoma. From the small road-end parking area divers swim out on a compass heading and meet the wall at around 50 to 60 ft; many describe it as a ledge rather than a true wall. Octopus holes riddle the face, and nudibranchs, sculpins, rockfish and sea stars are common. Scuba Scribbles adds purple sand dollars in the shallows and curious spiny dogfish. Parking is limited to about six vehicles in a residential area.
