Viking Cave
Also known as: Viking Bay · Viking Cave Reef
The site is named after the large cave above water on Phi Phi Leh, and the diving is in the bay in front of it. Concrete blocks stacked into pyramids form an artificial reef next to a coral nursery whose fragments are later moved onto them. The blocks are now crowded with snappers, fusiliers and glassfish, and pufferfish, lionfish, scorpionfish and anemonefish live among them. Further along the bay natural coral and rock take over, with moray eels and nudibranchs. Hawksbill turtles, banded sea snakes, batfish and blacktip reef sharks are seen at times, and currents are rarely noticeable.
