Maya Corner
Also known as: Maya Wall
The dive starts just inside the northern entrance of the bay and follows the coast north, along a shelved reef with steep sections of wall. Huge boulders are stacked into tunnels and swim-throughs, many of them packed with glassfish and soft corals. The north-west point at around 16 to 18 m is often called the best part, with a fine swim-through and a steep wall. Hawksbill turtles, titan triggerfish, octopus and oriental sweetlips live along the reef, and leopard sharks rest on the sand. Blacktip reef sharks circle near the northernmost mooring buoy.
