Palong Wall
Also known as: Palong Bay · Pallong Bay
Huge limestone blocks rise above the waterline and carry on underwater as a wall and sloping reef covered in hard corals, sea fans, whip corals and anemones. Blacktip reef sharks dart between the rocks, sometimes in only 2 or 3 m of water, and on good days there are many of them. Turtles graze along the boulders, and moray eels, octopus, cuttlefish and juvenile reef fish are common. Because it is sheltered and shallow, the site is widely used for courses, beginners and night dives. Small caverns and swim-throughs add interest, and dolphins have been seen in the bay.
