Sponge Gardens
Also known as: Sponge Garden Drift
Sponge Gardens lies where Exmouth Gulf opens to the sea, a little east of the Navy Pier. Instead of rock or coral bommies, the seabed here is a field of big, colourful sponges, gorgonian fans and sea whips. Divers ride the current across this garden, which lets them see a large area in one dive. The local dive centre recommends it for experienced divers; less experienced divers can join with an instructor during advanced or deep and drift training dives.
