Ruqq Swayak

Also known as: Sunken Reef of Tawakul

Ruqq Swayak is a submerged reef in the far north of Musandam, close to Abu Rashid island. It combines walls and slopes dressed in soft corals. Kingfish, giant trevally, big-eye tuna, snappers, sweetlips and schools of barracuda and fusiliers patrol the reef, with turtles and rays below and damselfish in the shallows. Current is always present, so it is meant for advanced divers with drift experience.
