Eagle Bay
Also known as: Eagle Bay North · Jazirat Abu Chir
Eagle Bay takes its name from the eagles that nest on the island's cliffs. At about 6 m divers meet a very dense garden of hard coral, which opens into walls, slopes and striking rock formations. The usual route follows the reef on the left at around 15 to 18 m for about 20 minutes before turning back. Rays, sharks and turtles appear in the blue. Currents are strong and unpredictable with frequent downwellings, so both sources reserve it for advanced divers.
