Reef's End
Also known as: Reefs End
Reef's End is the underwater continuation of the crescent rim of Molokini, a ridge of reef that barely breaks the surface for about 200 yards beyond the visible island. The protected inner side is shallow and suits novice divers and snorkelers, while the outside and the tip fall away in a staircase of terraces into very deep water. Ed Robinson's Diving Adventures describes shark ledges at different depths and many kinds of eels, including morays, dragon eels, snowflake eels and garden eels. The shallows are covered with cauliflower coral, and reef sharks, rays and the occasional dolphin or whale shark are reported. Activity Authority warns that currents near Reef's End can be strong.
