Giants at Home

Also known as: Giants@Home · Home of the Giants · Gonobacabaca

Giants at Home is a single coral bommie in an otherwise featureless sandy area just off the beach of Gona Bara Bara island, near the southern end of China Strait. Cleaner wrasse living on the bommie service reef manta rays that line up above it, sometimes more than ten at a time. The site was found by Craig de Wit of MV Golden Dawn after his engineer insisted there were mantas off his home island. Divers are asked to enter well away from the bommie and wait calmly so the mantas come in on their own. The surrounding area also offers critter diving.
